In this guide, you’ll learn how to complete a status match to Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards
If you’re starting from scratch and want to earn Atmos Rewards elite status, one of the easiest ways to begin is by matching status you already hold with another airline. Atmos Rewards offers a once-per-lifetime status match from seven different airlines, including Air Canada, Delta, Southwest, United, and others.
The match is free. After you complete this form and are approved, you’ll receive Atmos elite status for 90 days. You can extend your status beyond the trial period by earning a set number of base points on Alaska and Hawaiian flights during those 90 days:
- Atmos Silver (Oneworld Ruby): 5,000 base points
- Atmos Gold (Oneworld Sapphire): 10,000 base points
- Atmos Platinum (Oneworld Emerald): 20,000 base points
- Atmos Titanium (Oneworld Emerald): Not available for status matching
You’ll earn base points on all fares except Saver fares. Eligible flights on Alaska, Hawaiian, or other qualifying partner airlines earn one base Atmos point per mile flown. For example, a 1,000-mile flight earns 1,000 base points.
That means if you match to Atmos Gold and book a Main Cabin round-trip from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to Honolulu (HNL) via Seattle (SEA), you’d earn 10,780 base points for 10,780 miles flown, which is enough to extend your status.
How long you can extend your matched status depends on when you begin the challenge:
- Start between January and June: If you meet the requirements, your status will be valid through the end of the calendar year.
- Start between July and December: If you meet the requirements, your status will be valid through the end of the following calendar year.
To get the most time, it’s best to begin your match on or just after July 1. Doing so and completing the extension can give you up to 18 months of elite status.
Finally, keep in mind this is a once-per-lifetime opportunity. While some Atmos Rewards members have reported being able to match more than once, those cases are exceptions to the stated rules.
