Will I get charged resort fees with AAdvantage Hotels?

If you booked on AAdvantage Hotels with a property that has a resort fee at check-in, you don’t get charged if you don’t check-in. These fees aren’t charged if your reservation is canceled. Some users have reported using virtual cards to prevent unwanted card charges.
