In this guide, you will learn how to earn Loyalty Points through Dining towards status with American Airlines.
How to Earn

Begin by signing up for AAdvantage Dining 🔗 using your AAdvantage account. After you join AAdvantage Dining using your AAdvantage account, you navigate to your profile and add your credit cards. Remember, you can add non-Mastercard cards to Advantage Dining as an overflow to SimplyMiles.

The AAdvantage Dining program lets you earn when you dine. It features restaurants, bars and clubs that you can earn miles (and loyalty points) through (in-person, take-out or delivery). After signing up, you add credit/debit cards (any kind) to track for transactions.

For a limited time, the program is offering a 500 mile bonus when you sign up and spend $25 or more with a linked credit or debit card. Be sure to read the full terms on the home page. While the bonus miles do not earn you loyalty points, any dining transactions will earn miles and loyalty points.

After logging in, navigate to Linked Cards. Your payment card network will provide activity to AAdvantage Dining. You will receive a notification e-mail one to two days after dining confirming you’ve earned points. No further action is required.

  • If you do not elect to receive email communications from AAdvantage Dining, you will earn 1 mile (and loyalty point) per $1 spent
  • If you do elect to receive email communications from AAdvantage Dining, you will earn 3 miles (and loyalty points) per $1 spent
  • After you complete 11 transactions and elect to receive email communications from AAdvantage Dining, you will earn 5 miles (and loyalty points) per $1 spent

Important: there is a maximum earnings of 10,000 Loyalty Points per transaction. If you are earning 5 miles per dollar and the bill is over $2,000, ask for it to be split.

Gift Cards

Users have reported being able to purchase gift cards at AAdvantage Dining participating locations and earning Loyalty Points.

How long does it take for points to post?

Typically within 1-2 days after dining, you will receive a tracking e-mail. Miles & points will post shortly after.

Rewards Network

AAdvantage Dining is part of the Rewards Network which includes dining programs for airlines such as Alaska, Delta, and United. If you use those programs, you do not have to link your cards. If you do try to link with another participating Rewards Network partner, it will unlink the card.
